Since 2001, Silverlake Academy has been providing our students an incomparable foundation for lifelong education by encouraging healthy habits and overall wellness. Our goal is to focus on the well-being of each student. By working together with families and our community, we can ensure they reach their full potential, both socially and academically.
Silverlake Academy’s teaching team has been together for more than ten years. Not only do our veteran teachers draw on their years of experience in the early childhood field, but they continue to learn and grow through current education classes and seminars. All of our teachers have earned their CDA degree, as well as certifications in CPR/AED, First Aid, Child Abuse and Neglect. Silverlake is both licensed through the state of Kentucky and participates in the STARS for KIDS NOW program.
Our Preschool and Pre-K programs offer lower student to teacher ratios than state requirements. Smaller class sizes are not only proven to increase educational effectiveness, but also have health and safety benefits. These low ratios ensure your child receives a personalized education by working closely with their teacher, while also encouraging them to engage and collaborate with their own peers.
Silverlake Academy curriculum focuses on many key areas of Kindergarten readiness. Through everyday play and activities, our goal is to work together with parents to introduce and inspire the developmental skills your child will need to shape their future education. These main areas include:
- Social-Emotional Development
- Language & Communication
- Approaches to Learning- Initiative & Curiosity, Engagement & Persistence, Reasoning & Problem Solving
- Physical Development
One of the most unique and beneficial advantages of Silverlake Academy is our facility. In addition to classroom time, students have a diverse range of fine and gross motor opportunities available to them. While other centers may only offer classrooms and playgrounds, Silverlake students can take advantage of our USGA gymnastics room, full size gymnasium, multi-level climbing structure, indoor and outdoor pools, outside field and garden, as well as Silverlake Park. Our time schedule is designed to provide an excellent balance of free-moving fun and curriculum-based learning.
